1980–1985 – Digital Web War, Capitol Murders, Nameless Awakens
🜂 1980–Feb 1985: The Fracturing of Reality
“Madison was always the heart. And the Nameless was always patient.”
— Jay Dee, just before the Eclipse Ritual
💻 The Digital Web & Abel Washington’s Initiative (1980–1984)
- Abel Washington (Virtual Adept) launches the Digital Madtown Initiative, recruiting Virtual Adepts, Sons of Ether, and technomantic Hermetics to build a technological firewall within the emerging Digital Web.
- In 1982, Abel discovers New Eden, a pre-existing sector of the Digital Web tied to the Capitol Node. He activates Digi-8, a powerful AI designed to defend this new realm.
- However, New Eden becomes infected by the Nameless’ entropy code. By 1984, the rogue Nephandus Trent is using corrupted spires within New Eden to poison the Digital Web’s infrastructure.
🏛️ New Avalon: Fractures in the Horizon Realm
- In the Dream-based realm of New Avalon, the Nameless spreads across three zones:
- Entropy Zone: The Shattered Spire becomes a Nephandi base.
- Spirit Zone: Corrupted spirits attack the Totem Grove, cutting off Dreamspeakers.
- Mind Zone: The Mirror of Reflection becomes the Mirror of Shadows, driving travelers to madness.
- Infighting grows between the Council of Nine and Disparate Mages. The Hollow Ones, led by Lacy Z. Rivere, clash with Traditionalists, further weakening the Realm’s defenses.
🧙♂️ What the Mages Are Doing
- Lea Nosson Goodwin (Celestial Chorus) leads spiritual efforts to anchor Madison’s essence.
- Ann Johnston (Akashic Brotherhood) trains Umbra-walkers for a final confrontation.
- Miriam Greenfield (Verbena) and Glory of the Morning (Dreamspeaker) defend the Olbrich Caern.
- Lacy Rivere expands the Cabal of the Desperate, protecting outcasts but hiding her blood addiction and pact with Anarch Kindred.
- Evan Adams (Society of Ether) continues building unstable Reploids, unaware that their core power source—the Capitol Node—is feeding the Nameless.
🐺 Werewolves in Crisis
- William Burke (Silver Fang) leads the defense of the Arboretum Caern, but struggles with spiritual corruption and political infighting.
- Donnie (Bone Gnawer) warns of growing Shadow Zones beneath the isthmus.
- Tensions rise between tribes, especially as Peter Kobyla (suspected of corruption) seeks dominance.
🦇 Kindred and Changeling Intrigue
- Tori Redford (Gangrel) remains Prince, but her peaceful alliance with the Garou and Mages is fragile.
- Victor King (Ventrue) and Michael Kruger (Tremere) plot a Camarilla coup, working with Magadon and Pentex—unwittingly aiding Nephandi interests.
- David None (Nosferatu) discovers glyphs in the tunnels tied to the Nameless’ ritual.
- Lulu Turner (Lasombra) and Lacy maintain an underground alliance of Anarchs and Hollow Ones.
- The Fae, increasingly uneasy, begin pulling back from alliances. The Mirror of Shadows affects even changeling dreams.
🔪 The Capitol Murders (February 1985)
On February 9, 1985, the 1,000-Year Curse nears its peak:
- Tori Redford (Anarch Prince) is ritually murdered in her haven.
- William Burke (Silver Fang leader) is killed near the Capitol Node, his body carved with Nephandic runes.
- Twelve mortals are also found dead inside the Capitol building, arranged in a sacrificial pattern that aligns with the Madtown Node’s ley linesCharacters Draft📜 Timeline of the Name….
These events are orchestrated by the Nameless’ agents to:
- Shatter existing supernatural alliances.
- Weaken the Capitol Node’s spiritual defenses.
- Accelerate the transformation of Madison into a Dark Node.
