🜃 Madtown Event – The Third Fire Burns Again
After 1,000 years of suppressed resonance and cracked bindings, the third seal of the Nameless stirs again beneath Teejop. The Wyrm’s gaze has shifted westward, and the Neverborn beneath the stone begins whispering more frequently into the Umbra, infecting dreams, spirit paths, and even the sacred waters of the Four Lakes.
Three major events unfold in Teejop:
1. The Reignition of the Third Fire
- A remnant of the Croatan tribe, led by the shaman Stone-Guide, returns to the Hollow Promise, aware of the impending cycle.
- He enacts the Rite of the Third Fire, a sacrificial ceremony drawing on the dying embers of the original Caern, fed by the pain of a dying era.
- The rite does not restore the seal—but it stabilizes the region just enough to keep the Nameless dormant.
- During the rite, Stone-Guide dreams of a future city, a city of cold stone, watching spirits, and shadowy minds—a city that will both seal and awaken the Third Anchor.
2. Arrival of the First Hallowed Mask
- A proto-Chakravanti deathwalker, fleeing the early Vedic conflicts and persecution, arrives in Teejop through spirit pilgrimage, guided by echoes of death and karmic imbalance.
- She leaves behind a bone mask etched with the Ramayana, hidden in a cavern beneath Lake Wingra. The mask resonates with death, memory, and karmic recursion.
- In future ages, the mask will be claimed by the Euthanatos of Madison, used in rituals to sever echoes of the Nameless from souls caught in reincarnation loops.
3. The Merging of Echo and Wound
- The fractured Capitol Node begins to pulse with both Wyld and Wyrm-tainted resonance, creating an unstable Dreamscape “bubble” that blinks in and out of existence.
- This blinking echo is later called the Red Reflection—a phenomenon that inspires hallucinations of ancient battles, future cities, and a burning spiral sun.
- Spirit-chroniclers believe this is the first co-mingling of the Nameless and the Neverborn’s memory fields, a union that will later prove catastrophic if not contained.
Long-Term Consequences
- The Croatan vanish within two centuries, their sacrifice marking them as both martyrs and the last true caretakers of the original seal.
- The Third Fire is reduced to an ember, but in doing so, it is embedded into the spiritual DNA of the land—ensuring that when the city of Madison is founded, the power can be reborn through Awakened action.
- Modern Dreamspeakers occasionally dream of Stone-Guide’s rite, and the echo of his howl can be heard once per millennium on the night of the autumn equinox, if one is standing in the Hollow Promise and bleeds into the stone.
