10–20 Billion BCE – The Big Bang and the Triat Begins
“Let there be Order. Let there be Change. Let there be Mystery. And so it began.” — The Book of Spirals, Fragment 1:1
At the moment of the Big Bang, the infinite potential of unmanifested existence fractures into space, time, and substance. In this primal act of cosmic division, three fundamental essences awaken—what will later be called the Triat:
The Weaver, embodiment of order, law, structure, and form.
The Wyrm, avatar of entropy, transformation, and destruction.
The Wyld, infinite potential and unshaped creativity (still silent in this age).
These forces do not emerge as personalities, but as primordial impulses rippling through the newborn universe.
⚙️ The Weaver’s Grand Design In the microseconds following the Big Bang, the Weaver spins her first webs, crystallizing primal energy into quarks, atoms, stars, and galaxies.
She inscribes the fundamental constants: gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak nuclear forces—all obedient to her will.
In her pursuit of perfection, she attempts to build a harmonic lattice of galaxies—a cosmic mechanism where each cluster will mirror the other, every solar system a gear in a vast celestial engine.
This marks the earliest conceptual seed of Pattern Webs, long before the Gauntlet or the Umbra. These structures lay dormant, echoing throughout dimensional space, destined to later be awoken by Technomancers and digital magi.
🕳️ The Wyrm’s Beautiful Destruction Where the Weaver binds, the Wyrm unravels—not yet corrupted or insane, but acting in perfect counterbalance.
As stars are born, the Wyrm ensures that some collapse, forming the first black holes, singularities so dense that not even light escapes.
The Wyrm’s creations are not malevolent—they are crucial. Black holes recycle matter, forge heavy elements, and bend time and space.
The Weaver is unnerved: she recognizes the necessity of entropy, but fears the loss of predictability, the mystery of event horizons, and the potential for instability.
🔭 The First Singularities: Wells of Mystery These black holes become cosmic points of tension between the Weaver and the Wyrm—where pattern ends and unknowing begins.
Within each singularity lies a metaphysical paradox: a realm where reality stops obeying laws.
Some mages later theorize that black holes are gateways to Deep Umbra Realms, to the Maelstrom of Wraiths, or even to the dreaming minds of Titans.
By hiding singularities behind event horizons, the universe ensures that no mortal being can observe pure entropy—only its effect. This becomes a precursor to Paradox.
🧪 Metaphysical Impact on World of Darkness Cosmology Reality Zones begin forming: areas of space where Weaver’s influence is dominant, and others where the Wyrm’s entropy holds sway.
The Wyld remains dormant, but its essence is preserved in cosmic background radiation, the leftover “noise” of creation—unshaped, wild potential waiting to awaken.
The first resonance patterns emerge:
Nodes are seeded on planets orbiting stable stars.
Shallowings appear near pulsars and neutron stars.
Holes in the Umbra align with black holes, where space is too twisted for spirits to traverse safely.
🕯️ Legacy The early balance of Weaver and Wyrm shapes all future spiritual ecosystems. Neither force is evil—yet.
This tension creates the foundation for later conflicts among Garou, Mages, and other Awakened beings.
Before there were Caerns, Nodes, or Chantries—there were laws and limits, birth and death, gravity and light.
The Triat are not yet at war. But the seed of division is sown.
